Lab Test Results, Rice Plastics in Bekasi Contains 3 Chemicals

Bekasi - Two samples of rice were circulating in Mustikajaya, Bekasi, West Java, determined to be false. Based on the results of laboratory tests which were announced by PT Sucofindo known, rice-rice contains three hazardous chemicals.
"We conduct laboratory tests with sensitive instruments and professional. Rice is distinguished samples 1 and 2, physically almost the same. The result is suspect, the content of which is used to make plastic materials," said Head of Testing Laboratory Sucofindo, Adisam ZN, to Liputan6.com in Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday (21/05/2015).
Adisam admitted no constituent plastic plasticizer compounds that are found in the rice. Among others Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, or DEHP, and diisononyl phthalate (DIN).
"This plasticizer compounds used to flex cables or plastic pipe," he said.
He explained that this test is performed using infrared spectrum tool to see apakat are polymeric compounds such as plastic in the rice. The result, he said, there is a compound that is identical with the polymer. "Rice is a natural, does not contain compounds like this," said Adisam.
"There are other compounds in the content of the rice that had been mixed. We suspect, there is intent to enter other compounds mixed with rice," he said.
Adisam explained, rice false can not be digested by the stomach. And when consumed continuously can cause cancer. It has already been tested in mice.
In Europe, these compounds even been banned from use in children's toys component. Especially for groceries.
Even so, he continued, rice protein containing plastics are recorded very high, which is 7, 38 per cent for sample one and sample two for 7, 68 percent. (Ndy / Yus)
